Faceless: Untold Side Effects of Culture, Race, & Covid-19 is a collection of student writing that spans genre, space, and time before, during, and after the coronavirus pandemic. Supported by the 826 Dallas Project as part of the Young Authors' Book Project, students from two ethnic studies courses in Dallas, TX wrote honest and searing works that weigh the long-standing sin of American racism with the new realities of virtual learning and social distancing.
In November 2019, several of these same students from Trinity Garza Early College high School in Dallas, TX raised their voices during a Texas Board of Education public hearing on ethnic studies courses. Their activism led to the courses getting approved statewide, therefore paving the way for this book as the first fruit of that labor.
